What can I do to fix this error?
If you have followed my instructions to the letter, and copied and pasted the full code in the right place, then just wait a few days and try again.
If you continue having an issue, then report it in the help Group. Chances are you are not the only one, and if enough people complain then Google will fix the issue.
I was recently having "bX" errors while moving a widget. It wouldn't allow me to save for 2 days. I just waited and kept trying and after awhile, just like magic, it worked just fine.
I wanted to thank him for linking to me.
Unfortunately, I can't find anything other than the same email address that you found.
This line is not in my layout.
If you have expanded widgets and still do not see it, then tell me what template you are using and I'll examine it and tell you where it should go.
Most Blogger provided templates do have this line, but it is often omitted or named something else in templates you get from other websites. If you are using a 3rd party template, you will need to provide me with the URL where I can get a copy to look at.
I checked it and you do have those 2 lines in your template.
Please refer to step #4:
You need to put a check mark in the box on the upper right to expand widgets before you can see those 2 lines.
"div class post footer"
Right now I have a Twitter button which just links to my Twitter page, but I'd like to use a "Twit this" instead if possible. I found workable code to do this for Facebook.
http://stratoblogster.blogspot.com
Thanks!!!
Keep in mind that you only want it to show on post pages and not the main page, or you will have the issue I mentioned about the possibility of the post not being there when someone on twitter clicks through to go to the site.
I was able to find a simple workaround requiring NO code changing or adding, by using Feedburner's Feed Flare option.
I discovered this here:
http://www.blogcoach.org/2008/12/tools-add-twit-this-to-your-posts.html
I dropped Feedburner because of issues related to how often it updates. It's too slow for my liking.
The AddThis button that I have on this blog pretty much covers everything, but I don't think most visitors know that. Plus the extra buttons are more of an encouragement to share on specific services that I feel are of merit.
http://coolbusteratyourservice.blogspot.com/
You will have to provide more details in order for me to help you.
This thing is fail. :(
I followed your instructions to the letter and got no error messages from Blogger. However, the button does not show up on my posts. I had the same trying t ad the Google reader button.
Getting no error message, I am unable to tell you more...
Any idea why this is not showing?
Thanks
Mimi
I just checked the source on all your blogs and I don't see the code in there anywhere. Did you remove it?
I can't tell you what you did wrong if I can't see it.
You provided very clear and detailed instructions. Thank you so much!
Dora Crow
Just like when using plain old images without any links, they all come out in a straight line.
Now if you insert your button codes directly into your posts, instead of your template, the post editor may place them on separate lines.
Additionally, I took a look at your blog and you seem to have the twitthis button showing on all pages, including your main page, which I advised against. And you have 2 buttons showing for share/save showing on post pages.
Thank you.
http://hereweare-soeherman.blogspot.com
This way you have much nicer and more intuitive arrangement of stuff below your post. I mean you first inform the reader about the author and, maybe, tags assigned to post, then comes comments link and just after that you ask your reader to share your post on Twitter or whatever.
Anyway, thanks for that: FeedBurner's Flare is really not a solution.
You need to expand the widgets like I said in step 4 in order to see it.
Look for this:
<div class='post-footer'>
<div class='post-footer-line post-footer-line-1'>
Paste the code right between those 2 lines.
Can I ask for your further advice?
<div align='right'>
Right after the part in yellow, paste this:
</div>
That should shift the button to the right side, underneath your Digg button.
If that isn't what you want, then explain exactly what you do want and I'll try to help.
One more thing if I may. The Digg button appears in a blog post if viewed in Google Reader but the TwitThis button does not.
Thanks again
You really don't want the TwitThis button showing in Google Reader because it was made by modifying the bookmarklet code, and it doesn't work the way you are thinking when someone clicks it.
What it does is submits the URL of what page they are on, and they would be tweeting the URL of Google Reader and not your post, if that is where they really are when they click it. (and I think Google Reader gets enough traffic already, without you making that mistake)
One more thing if I may. Is there anyway I can move the Wikio Button so it above "Posted by Events dear boy, events"?
Move the code for the wikio button to right below this line:
<!-- things placed after this line will show on all pages -->
That will put it on the same line as the TwitThis button, but since it's not in the same div, and it contains styling to align it to the left, it should be right above the name and not on the right like the TwitThis button.
Also, it will still show on every page, including the main page of your blog.
I would prefer as it is shown on the individual page. Can this be altered?
I am not sure why it is doing that, since it works just fine for me and everyone else.
What you should be seeing is a small window with a login box for twitter.
I am almost 100% positive that the issue is on your PC and not with my code or the TwitThis service.
Maybe something in your browser's settings or some plugin you have installed is interfering with it functioning properly.
I am sorry, but I really can't help you with fixing that.
Any help would be appreciated.
Any ideas why this may be the case?
The code seems to be working just fine. The button is showing up on post pages, just like it should.
Remember that it will NOT show on the main page of your blog where there are multiple posts and the content changes. This is because the link the button passes is the url of the page in which the button is clicked, and if that is the main page of your blog, the article may not be there when someone clicks the link on twitter.
Please correct the error below, and submit your template again.
Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: The element type "b:if" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "".
Thank you very much,
Carlo
Cater-Hater Blog
If you change or miss part of it, or paste it in the wrong place, you could get that error.
I now have the twitthis button on my blog.
Thank you very much!!!
p.d: I speak spañish, excuse my grammar.
Getting no error message, I am unable to tell you more...
Any idea why this is not showing?
thank you!
Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: The element type "p" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "".
Additionally, after it does go through, don't look on your main page for it, because it won't be there. Check on a post page, as these 2 codes work on post pages only.
Love the idea of this, but do the same instructions work for "Old Blogger"?

"p class='post-footer-line post-footer-line-1'"
I am using the Ms. Moto layout
I tried to find your blog but the one that is linked to your Blogger profile doesn't seem to be using the Ms Moto template and you have the button installed on it already (although incorrectly, since it is showing on the main page and shouldn't be).
How that
Thanks ever so much.
Plato
Did you get an error message?
Does it not show up on post pages? (remember it will never show on main page, and for good reason)
Does the button itself not work as in it can't tweet links?
I need more info in order to help you get it working.
Try again, but this time follow the instructions.
Oh and I just tweeted this too! :)
Saludos!
i am attempting to add this to my blogspot and when i enter the full code from the very top to the very bottom and then i view it...all the posts are gone....so i don't get an error code...to give to you...
do i have to take out the page and post areas of the code...
i have found the correct area to insert the code...it just doesn't seem to be working...
thanks
darlene
So check to make sure you are using the full code and nothing less or more, and double check where you are putting it.
If you still have this problem, click the contact link at the top of the page and I'll see if I can help you.
I just used it in blogspot and it works fine.
Will point to this post due to it being really helpful

I would place the full code I supplied right after that, and then move the StumbleUpon button code to the upper section of my button code, where it says to place things you want to appear on all pages.
You may have to remove the
&
tags from your original StumbleUpon code to get the buttons to be on the same line."Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
XML error message: The element type "b:if" must be terminated by the matching end-tag ""."
Can you help?
Much thanks in advance!
The ending is in the part after the yellow.
I only wish you had a "tweet this" button at the bottom of the article! But I'm going to tweet it manually because it's very worth it.
Well done for managing to configure it though... the instructions are very good... and simple if people just follow them!
Saludos! :)
It falls between the two lines you identify as the location to place your code. If I can incorporate both, my question is whether it should come before or after the script shown above.
Thanks! Leo
If you want it above, you add it before the code. If you want it below, you add it after.
You can also try it within the code, adding it to the top section reserved for things to appear on all pages, but I am not too sure how that would end up working. It might look funny.
All I can say is pick one of the 3 options and add it. You can always move the feedburner code if you don't like the results you get.
Thanks again, Leo
Your template could not be parsed as it is not well-formed. Please make sure all XML elements are closed properly.
How to fix it? Please help me.
I cant remove it???
HELP PLEASE?
Thanks in advance for your answer!
The Google Reader buttons were made by me and are hosted on my server.
The TwitThis button is the official one from the TwitThis service and hosted by them.
Anyone who is interested can check the page source of any of my blog's pages, and get the code.
Thank you so much!
Then take a look at this page on your blog: http://downtownrichmond.blogspot.com/2009/06/this-is-not-about-twitter-this-is-not.html
take a look http://incaenmapia.blogspot.com<br />
thanks for your effort
You have the same problem he had.
The code is working fine on your blog. The button is there, right where I said it would be.
Thanks a lot!
That will be very helpful for me.
Thank you.
My only problem now is that I would like the "twit this" as well as the comment reactions to stay off of my "static" pages. Any advice on how to do this? http://adventuresindiapering.blogspot.com
As far as your question about removing things from "static" pages, I'll have to think about that, and if I come up with an easy method of doing that, I'll make another post with instructions.
For now, when you make a post that you want to use as a static page, just turn comments off on that post. There is an option for that in the Blogger post editor.
If you aren't getting the tweets, then take a closer look at your traffic stats and the quality of your articles.
You need to have readers, and they have to like what they are reading enough to want to share it.
There should be information on the TwitThis site for how to use TwitThis on a Wordpress blog.
You should have the lines I mentioned in my instructions, even if the template was created by a 3rd party. Follow the instructions and post again if you can't find them, giving a link to the blog you are having the problem with.
.post-footer {
}
margin: .75em 0;
color:$sidebarcolor;
text-transform:uppercase;
letter-spacing:.1em;
font: $postfooterfont;
line-height: 1.4em;
blog is www.hiltonheadbeachcomber.blogspot.com if you are able to help.
THANK YOU!!!!
Then use the "find" function in your browser to find the line mentioned in Step 5.
Then just finish following the directions.

What browser are you using? Are you using any type of ad blockers?
Change the URL to ajax.twitthis.com and it should work again.

Whats wrong here ?
Best Regards
anything that may go wrong on their server.
The messages you are getting are not a result of my code or anything that
you did wrong. It is an issue with TwitThis. They are the ones having the
problem. There is nothing you (or I) can do except wait for them to fix the
issues on their end.
But there is something i want. Now this button is coming in the bottom of the post. I want this button to appear next to the blog post title. Then it will be more visible and more beneficial. If you can help me then please guide me through the HTML codes of the template that where to put your codes to get the button next to the blog post title.
Thanks again
this. I am not prepared or willing to give free 1-on-1 lessons in Blogger
template coding.
I am sorry.

With thanks in advance

work into the proper section. There is a comment in my code to tell you
where to put it.
As far as a code for Twitter for the front page, the one I am using is a
slightly modified bookmarklet code and if you place it on the front page, it
may lead to linking to the wrong page. It will lead to the page in which it
is clicked on, which could be the main page of your blog and not the post in
which the person clicked it on. By the time others visit that link the post
that was intended to be shared may not be there any more and it is likely to
make people frustrated and/or angry. This was why I did it the way I did and
only added it to post pages.
